HELPFUL HOMESUPPORTER SERVICE – Client T&C’s

Unity Living Ltd sub-brand as Helpful HomeSupport will only undertake business on the following Terms and Conditions. These terms are legally binding so please read them carefully.

Please note: 

  • The people we introduce are the ‘HomeSupporter
  • Helpful HomeSupport is referred to in this document as the ‘Agency
  • The person requesting the help in their home is referred to as the ‘Client
  1. Helpful HomeSupport is an introductory agency introducing self-employed personnel ‘HomeSupporters’ to ‘Clients’ who engage them directly for a period of time. The acceptance of a HomeSupporter introduced by the Agency will be deemed as acceptance of our Terms and Conditions of Business.
  2. Clients are responsible for direct payment to any HomeSupporter engaged as a result of introduction by the Agency. 
  3. The Agency will charge a Non-Refundable introduction fee £75 + VAT for the first month of engaging a HomeSupporter. For subsequent months, the Agency fee is 10% + VAT on top of  the HomeSupporters hourly rate. If the Client uses more than one HomeSupporter all invoices will be subject to the monthly Agency fee. The Agency fee is invoiced monthly in arrears, calculated according to the HomeSupporter’s Client invoices, and is payable by Direct Debit. 
  4. Introduction of a HomeSupporter will be between the Agency and the Client and no HomeSupporter may be introduced or their details in any way be passed on to a third party without the Agency’s relevant fees applying. 
  5. Any Client re-booking a HomeSupporter after a break [not including short-term breaks such as holidays or sickness] must contact the Agency as it will be treated as a new introduction and the Agency’s fees will be applicable. 
  6. The Agency assumes that all details of the Engagement have been agreed between the Client and the HomeSupporter unless the Client informs the Agency in writing to the contrary prior to the commencement of the Engagement. 
  7. the Client is liable to pay the HomeSupporter for every hour they are booked. Payment may be made daily,weekly or monthly in arrears, as mutually agreed between the Client and the HomeSupporter.
  8. The Agency acts as an introduction Agency only and does not directly or indirectly employ the HomeSupporter who is self-employed. 
  9. The Agency gives no guarantee regarding the capability, character, medical condition, age or suitability of the Homesupporter. While the Agency endeavours to verify the background of HomeSupporters introduced before a situation commences, it cannot guarantee that all the information regarding the HomeSupporter is accurate. 
  10. If the HomeSupporter has a driving licence, and it is agreed that the HomeSupporter may use their car when driving the Client, the Client must ensure they have seen the HomeSupporters valid UK driving licence. The Client is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is fully insured for the role. If the HomeSupporter is using their own vechile, they must have valid business use motor insurance. The HomeSupporter can reclaim motoring costs from the client at the rate of 45p per mile, plus the cost of parking on any journey with, or on behalf of, the Client. 
  11. The Agency does not accept any liability whatsoever for misrepresentation, loss, damage, injury, delay, claims or expense of any description arising out of an introduction made by the Agency. The final responsibility for accepting the HomeSupporter lies with the Client.
  12. We advise Clients that they should hold adequate public liability insurance [which is often included in normal household contents cover], as the Client may be liable for injury and/or loss to the HomeSupporter arising under the Occupiers Liability Act 1957.
  13. The Agency reserves the right to use its own discretion with regard to any situation or problem not itemised in its terms.
  14. The Agency fees and HomeSupporters hourly rate are payable at the advertised rate. If the fees  or HomeSupporter rates need to be increased the Agency will give the Client two months written notice. If the Client is dissatisfied with the increase he or she may wish to cancel the arrangement with the HomeSupporter.  
  15. If a HomeSupporter introduced by the Agency is subsequently booked in any other capacity, then an additional fee will be required.
